About the Author

Born in the early fifties to liberal-minded English parents, Kim Alfreds and his family immigrated to Canada in the late fifties, where he grew up in a middle-class, professional environment in West Vancouver. After marrying his high school sweetheart, at age 17 (armed solely with an attitude and a grade 9 education), the author went back to school while working and supporting a family, and gained a certificate from BCIT in Financial Management. Then he set out to conquer the world of high finance. Unfortunately, finance was not the only thing getting high, which was his temporary undoing. By the early eighties, through necessity, the author reinvented himself.

This time he started out as a copier salesman. This led to sales training, business development, and the formation of his own business, which he started from scratch. His journey through adversity and prosperity has led to a great deal of personal and professional growth, and has given the author a unique and thought-provoking perspective on life.

Now a highly successful businessman, who loves sailing, skiing, and helping you look good in all your endeavours, the author is still married to his high school sweetheart, and very much in love. Together they have two adult children, and five grandchildren — True warriors all.
